Pesticide and fertiliser packs carry batch, manufacture, and expiry dates that have to stay legible through handling, stacking, and outdoor storage. A dye code on a glossy label is a different job from a large mark on a woven sack, so most agro plants run CIJ on the primary pack and a large character printer on the outer case.
